Amish quilt expert donates February profits to HOPE

Lancaster-County-owned AmishQuiltShop.net, a retailer of authentic Amish quilts, has teamed up with HOPE International to invest in dreams. For the month of February, the company is donating all of its profits to HOPE.

Store owners Michael and Destiny Bell collaborate with Old Order Amish families who make beautiful quilts by hand. Their work has been featured in National Geographic Traveler magazine.

Michael and Destiny have lived among the Amish of Lancaster County for most of their lives, and quilting has been important to their families for several generations. Recognizing that not everyone is able to experience the charm of Lancaster County firsthand, Mike and Destiny started AmishQuiltShop.net so that others could enjoy Amish craftsmanship. AmishQuiltShop.net specializes in custom quilt designs that include handmade bed quilts and wall hangings in traditional Amish patterns and colors.

An entrepreneur himself, Mike is passionate about small business growth and the opportunities businesses can provide to those living in poverty. By donating this month’s proceeds toward HOPE’s work alleviating physical and spiritual poverty around the world, “it is a cool way to marry the two,” he said.
