It’s Giving Tuesday! We are inspired year after year by the contagious generosity shown by so many on this day. In a similar spirit as the past few years, we have once again curated an intentional list of incredible organizations who share a similar Kingdom-minded approach to serving people living in poverty.
HOPE International’s mission and model has always focused on the most vulnerable members of society, looking to serve those caught in the cycle of poverty on the margins, or the “frontiers” as we say at HOPE, of their communities.
As we look around, there are many standout organizations who have also positioned themselves to help the men, women, and children that are most overlooked. The following five organizations are working in places and sectors outside of where HOPE currently serves, each with a unique approach to crisis assistance and poverty alleviation. We are excited this year to highlight these incredible nonprofits doing Kingdom-focused work.
Location: Rural communities, Uganda
What they do: Provide local, sustainable community-based solutions that develop schools, medical clinics, farms, and businesses in rural communities.
Why we love them: We applaud their commitment to locally based solutions, empowering individuals to thrive where they are at, using what God has placed in their hands, and boosting the economy and community around them.
Location: Various countries in Africa
What they do: Partner with local law enforcement authorities to protect widows and orphans from violent abuse and exploitation.
Why we love them: We have connected with their teams in Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Uganda to support each other in our aligned efforts to serve the most underserved communities. Their focus on those who are most vulnerable to exploitation is much needed.
World Hope Ministries International
Location: 50-53 countries
What they do: Make training, education, and equipping accessible to international leaders to preach the Gospel and pastor the Church globally.
Why we love them: We appreciate WHMI’s commitment to discipleship. This organization is committed to making pastoral training accessible to all.
Location: Lebanon
What they do: Respond with humanitarian aid and resources to the most vulnerable in Lebanon.
Why we love them: We admire their mission-true leadership and courageous commitment to sustain Gospel-focused hope amid crisis, bringing urgent relief to the extremely vulnerable.
Location: Pakistan, Rwanda, Cameroon, South Sudan, Georgia
What they do: Provide transformative education for children through schools and education systems in areas recovering from war and other kinds of disasters.
Why we love them: They focus on generational impact and restoration through education. And we share their conviction to serve in areas where there is staggering need and few organizations present to help.
We are encouraged by these nonprofits’ dedication to serving with integrity and intention. We’re grateful this Giving Tuesday to highlight them for your giving consideration. We hope you’ll join us in celebrating them and praying for them as we all continue together in the work God has called each of us to do.
