At HOPE International, we’re always eager to share how God is at work across the HOPE network—but we’re also committed to championing our nonprofit peers. It’s our joy this Giving Tuesday to once again recommend a short list of other nonprofits doing incredible work.

As HOPE has served in contexts of conflict, war, and civil unrest in Ukraine, Haiti, and elsewhere, we have seen firsthand that those who minister in hard places aren’t exempt from the pain of the brokenness around them. This year, we want to recognize five nonprofits supporting the mental and spiritual health of those responding on the frontlines of global conflicts. These organizations’ crisis support and counseling services are essential in helping staff care for themselves and others.

This Giving Tuesday, we’re glad to recommend five nonprofits providing care and crisis support to global workers.

“Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow.” Isaiah 1:17

At HOPE International, we celebrate the generosity that’s unleashed on Giving Tuesday! But with so many causes and groups to give to, we know it can be hard to know which to choose.

If you’re looking for ways to give this year, we’ve put together a list of four international and two U.S.-based organizations that we’ve had the privilege of getting to know and would recommend to you.

“But God will never forget the needy; the hope of the afflicted will never perish.” Psalm 9:18

At HOPE International, we want to be the hands and feet of Jesus to a world in need of His love, and we are glad we’re not alone in this mission. This Giving Tuesday, we’d like to shine a spotlight on five organizations working to bring hope and healing to refugees and displaced communities around the world.

In the past ten years, the number of refugees around the world has doubled to nearly 21 million. From Syria to Venezuela, Afghanistan, Yemen, and so many other parts of the world, people have made the difficult choice to leave their homes in pursuit of safety.

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the International Labour Organization predicted that 1.6 billion jobs on the margins of the world economy—representing half the world’s workforce—were in immediate danger. Lower-wage workers and minorities, as well as members of the informal economy, are particularly at risk—but these five organizations are stepping in, and they have our wholehearted endorsement. 5 innovative nonprofits we recommend

In their book Rooting for Rivals, HOPE’s president and CEO, Peter Greer, and chief advancement officer, Chris Horst, write:

We’ve been given a mission and mandate that requires nothing less than the best of our efforts working together in unity for the sake of the Kingdom … It’s time that we focus on the Church’s unified mission above our organizational agendas.

At HOPE International, we’re committed to fighting poverty, empowered by the Good News of Christ—and we rejoice that we aren’t alone in this.

This Giving Tuesday, we want to recommend five Christ-centered nonprofits impacting children, global healthcare, the Church, and the Earth. Together, we’re pursuing a greater Kingdom mission, so that more and more people experience the flourishing God intended for His creation.

Would you consider supporting these organizations today? Continue Reading…
